"FILL THE ARK" for the Heifer Project www.heifer.org
It is a four-week, daily missions-giving "Fill the Ark" program that offers real-life solutions to world hunger and shows that one person, one faily, one congregation can make a difference in today's world. Half of the funds will go to Heifer and the other to our apportionments.
The coins you donate to your ark wll provide an animal to a family in need.
Please pick up your calendar and box.
Heifer helps to empower families to turn hunger and poverty into hope and prosperity – but our approach is more than just giving them a handout. Heifer links communities and helps bring sustainable agriculture and commerce to areas with a long history of poverty. Our animals provide partners with both food and reliable income, as agricultural products, i.e., milk, eggs and honey which can be traded or sold at market.
When many families gain this new sustainable income, it brings new opportunities for building schools, creating agricultural cooperatives, forming community savings and funding small businesses.
The core of their model is "Passing on the Gift." This means families share the training their receive, and pass on the first female offspring of their livestock to another family. This extends the impact of the original gift, allowing a once impoverished family to become donors and full participants in improving their communities.

3. Our third outreach is Rebel Rooftop Reachout RebelRooftop.pdf
We invite the local high school students, faculty, band and booster club to watch the Varsity baseball games in the spring from our 1,000 square foot rooftop that provides an excellent view of the baseball diamond, or from the "Skybox" a convereted classroom with the game telecast on closed circuit TV.
Free hot dogs, popcorn, & drinks [hot chocolate, lemonade, coffee] are offered.
Games like bean bag toss, ping pong, and foosball are available.
Lansing dignitaries are expected to attend. The baseball team will stop over for a "meet and Greet" following the game.
Our first goal is to build on our foundation of being a “good neighbor” to the local high school and students.
Our second goal is to get them to attend a service, join our youth group, or to join a small groups.
